Q: How far in advance should I book RJ Moving?

A: Sooner is better than later. It never hurts to book weeks or even months in advance. If you wait until the last minute, it may be tougher to find you a spot on the schedule at your desired date and time.

Q: What is the best time of year and best time of day to move?

A: There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to the best time to move, especially in Minnesota where weather can be unpredictable and change quickly. We do moves year-round – so we’re ready when you are! Once we know more about your move, we’ll help you plan the best time of day for your move. We usually start early in the day and work until your move is completed.

Q: Can RJ Moving help me pack my belongings?

A: Yes, we can help you pack. Just let us know that you will need help packing when you call to schedule your move. We will come to your house to help you pack on either the day before you move or the day of your move, depending on the size of the move and how many belongings need to be packed.

Q: How long does packing generally take?

A: The length of time it takes for our crew to pack your belongings generally depends on how much is being packed and how many crew members are needed. We usually allot 2 to 6 hours for small to larger packs.

Q: How long will it take to move my belongings?

A: Every move is different and the times can vary. We have a two-hour minimum, which means you will be obligated to pay us for a minimum of two hours, even if your move takes less time to complete.

Q: What are my payment options?

A: We accept cash, bank certificated/cashier’s check and credit cards. (No personal checks please). We run all credit cards the business day before your move. If you are interested in paying with credit card, we can send you a form that you can scan and email or fax back. If you are unable to do either of these options, you can give us your information over the phone. We will then send a credit card form with the crew to have you sign for our records.

Q: Does RJ Moving require a deposit?

A: If you are paying with a credit card, we prefer that you give us the card information the day before your schedule move so we can run the card. If the estimated time is less than the actual hours and service provided, your credit card is refunded within 24 business hours. If you are paying with cash or cashier’s check, the payment must be given to the crew before your move is started.

Q: When do the charges start/end?

A: Your charges start when we arrive at the origin and end when we leave the destination. We have a one-time trip charge based on the crew size needed.

People are sometimes concerned that since we charge hourly, our crew will have a tendency to drive slowly from origin to destination, or that they work slowly while loading and unloading. But rest assured that we are very efficient, our crew is honest and we respect our customers and their time.

A: RJ Moving is able to go anywhere in the state of Minnesota and beyond.

Q: What do you do when you get a quote request form? How quickly should I expect a response?

A: We try to respond to online quote forms as soon as possible. During office hours, you should hear from us within the hour. If a form is submitted after hours, you will hear from us the following morning.
